Blackbox Ballistics is Back – And Better Than Ever

It’s been a quiet three weeks here on the blog, but behind the scenes it’s been anything but. Think of it like a pit stop in the middle of a race… we rolled into the garage, stripped things down to the frame, replaced every part we could, and tuned it all to run better than ever. We didn’t just give the website a facelift, we gave it a full transplant.

Here’s the full story of where we’ve been, what’s changed, and why it’s worth checking out the new Blackbox Ballistics.

1. New Host, New Look, New Speed
Before we even got into the heavy lifting, we found out something important. Some website hosts don’t exactly roll out the welcome mat for firearms dealers or even gun-related content. Their terms of service might as well say, “We love everyone… except you.”

Luckily, we figured this out before spending weeks building the new site. That meant we could pack up, move to a host that actually supports our business, and start fresh.

Now, switching hosts isn’t just clicking a button and calling it a day. It took longer than I hoped (turns out “learning on the fly” isn’t the fastest route), but I was in full “learn mode” and determined to get it right. The reward? Overnight, Blackbox Ballistics became the proud host of over 20,000 items (including a few mystery products that I’m still scratching my head over).

After some serious quality time with the “filter” button, we trimmed it down to a much more manageable, curated selection. But here’s the thing, if you don’t see it on the site, there’s still a good chance we can get it for you.

This direct connection means better variety, faster turnaround, and real transparency in stock availability, all without us having to warehouse every single item.

3. Payment Processing is Live
Finding a payment processor for a firearms dealer is like hunting for a unicorn in a haystack. And even if you do find the unicorn, it’s not going to come quietly and you’ve still got to figure out how to harness it and teach it to run in your system.

Once we landed on a processor that was firearms-friendly, the next challenge was getting it integrated with the site. I swear you need a PhD in computer science for some of this stuff. Maybe the younger crowd can do it with one eye closed and a TikTok playing in the background, but I had to lean on some seasoned industry folks who’ve wrestled this beast before.

With their help, everything now works the way it should “add to cart, check out, done”. No hoops to jump through.

4. We’re Officially Up and Running
