Our Story
My own firearms story started when I was 18. I bought a single pistol, a classic 1911 in .45. That was my one and only gun for many years and honestly I rarely took it out. Then a few years ago something changed. My wife Dian and I began taking a bigger interest in firearms and we discovered how much we genuinely enjoyed shooting. The challenge, the focus and the community around it pulled us in.
As we bought more guns we noticed something. Buying a firearm at a traditional gun store could feel intimidating especially for new shooters and especially for women. We also learned that some people were running home based gun shops and we thought to ourselves we should do that. At first the plan was simple. Offer local transfers and help people in our community. But once we got started we quickly realized that a lot of folks just wanted a different kind of buying experience. More personal. Less pressure. More educational.
That realization shaped Black Box Ballistics. We expanded into online sales while keeping our focus on service education and fair pricing. Customers should feel supported from the moment they ask a question to the moment they pick up their firearm.
Our Commitment
Black Box Ballistics is a true no judgment zone. Politics, lifestyle, income, background, experience level, none of that matters here. Everyone is welcome. We support responsible gun ownership and the Texas firearms community and we offer free stolen gun serial number checks to help keep buyers safe. We also stand with our military and law enforcement families while keeping our doors open to all who want to learn and enjoy shooting.

Dominic and Dian run Black Box Ballistics together. Dominic brings years of shooting experience and a problem solver’s mindset. Dian brings the people focus and calm confidence she has developed through her career as a flight attendant. She ensures customers feel comfortable, welcomed and supported through every step of the buying process.
Family Support
This is a true family business. Their son contributes his enthusiasm for firearms and gear and helps keep the shop grounded and fun.
